Getting started
The extension currently uses Chinese interface labels. No Fastermark account is required; connecting Chrome bookmarks is optional.
Fastermark is preparing for the Chrome Web Store. There is no installation link or separate download package yet; official installation will be through the store.
On first use, choose to connect Chrome bookmarks, add a local bookmark, or find an open tab. Dismiss the introduction and revisit it from the workspace guide whenever you need it.
New tabs and the normal-tab workspace share data. Right-click the toolbar icon and choose “打开 Fastermark 工作台”, or change the toolbar action to open the workspace. An existing workspace in the current window is reused.
Use, view, and organize your bookmarks
Add URLs, titles, descriptions, and folders manually. HTTP/HTTPS links, including online PDFs, can be saved. No page body is fetched. Browser-internal records in a native tree remain visible but are not executed by Fastermark.
Connected Chrome trees retain nested folders, mixed order, and repeated URLs as separate records. Deep imported trees can also retain structure locally; the original simple local categories keep their two-level rules. Recent links and counts measure Fastermark-initiated opens, not browser history.
- 1
Use existing Chrome bookmarks
Keep the bookmarks you already saved. In Settings → 书签连接, grant permission and confirm the merge preview to view and edit native Chrome bookmarks. Chrome handles cross-device sync according to your account and folder settings; descriptions and usage counts stay local. Local mode remains an option.
- 2
Save the page you are viewing
The default toolbar action saves its title and URL into Uncategorized (未分类) in local mode. The separate save shortcut suggests Command+Shift+S (Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux); inspect or change the actual binding in Chrome's extension shortcuts. Changing the toolbar action does not change that command.
- 3
Search what you remember
Search titles, full URLs, domains, descriptions, and folder paths, with Chinese and English matching. Use ↑ / ↓ to select, Enter in search to open, and Command/Ctrl+Enter to open in the background. Saving an existing bookmark shows its locations for inspection, editing, or moving.
- 4
Arrange your collection
Choose comfortable cards, compact cards, a list, or a category view. Sort by custom order, saved time, or name. Drag in organize mode, or select bookmarks and search a full destination path to move them together. Undo availability depends on the conditions shown in the interface.
Find and organize open tabs
Choose the Tabs (标签页) scope. An empty query shows windows; search titles, domains, or full URLs across normal windows of this browser profile. Incognito and popup windows are excluded. Briefly tap and release Shift to switch between Bookmarks and Tabs while keeping the query.
Enter or a result click activates the existing page. Explicitly save, close, or move a tab, or select at least two ungrouped, unpinned tabs in one window to create a native group. Related group actions request optional tabGroups permission.
With a query, the new-window action moves all eligible matches. In selection mode, only checked tabs move; the destination picker can also choose an existing window. Group or source-window consequences are confirmed first. Inspect partial results before retrying unfinished items.
Organize by website affects only its adjacent window. Session summaries show pinned tabs, groups, and exact duplicate URLs; cleanup protects the current workspace and other protected tabs. A tab becomes a lasting bookmark only when you explicitly save it.
Site search and direct URLs
Submitting a site search sends your query to the site you choose. Keyword hints use local configuration and do not request remote suggestions.
- 1
Enter a site keyword
By default, type g and a space for Google, y for YouTube, m for Google Maps, or w for Chinese Wikipedia. Enter submits the query; Command/Ctrl+Enter opens it in the background.
- 2
Configure your sites
Settings → 搜索与网址 lets you enable presets, edit keywords, or add a custom query URL. Choose Space, Tab, or either for activation. In Tab-only mode, spaces remain ordinary local search text.
- 3
Leave site search
Escape or the site chip's × exits while keeping your text; Backspace exits an empty query. Changing the bookmark/tab scope also exits site mode. Explicit HTTP(S) URLs or dotted domains can open directly, and this behavior can be disabled.
Appearance and shortcuts
- Settings → 外观 separately controls default/macOS 15 style, system/light/dark mode, accent, and bookmark view. Themes do not change the workspace layout.
- Create, import, preview, edit, copy, export, and delete local CSS themes. Imports do not activate automatically; save and apply commits your choice. Invalid CSS cannot be applied, and a separate recovery control stays available.
- Inside the workspace, / focuses search, a brief Shift tap switches scope, N adds a bookmark, and [ / ] toggle sidebars. Customize or disable them in General settings; text-entry and input-method protections apply.
- Chrome manages the browser-level Save and Open workspace commands. Open workspace has no default binding; assign it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. The settings page shows the actual browser binding.
- Themes, shortcuts, site settings, and onboarding stay on this device, outside ordinary bookmark backups and Chrome bookmark sync. Export custom themes separately as CSS.
Connect Chrome bookmarks
Settings → 连接 Chrome 书签 requests optional bookmarks permission. Review the local/native merge and confirm explicitly. The preview changes nothing; regenerate it if either source changes.
After connection, edit native titles, URLs, folders, and order and see external changes. “已与本机 Chrome 对齐” describes this browser only. Delivery to other devices depends on Chrome's account and folder settings; descriptions and usage counts stay local.
Disconnecting stops native writes and leaves an editable local snapshot. Reconnection needs a new preview; disconnected deletions are not replayed into Chrome. Partial or uncertain operations remain available for inspection rather than blindly creating records again.
Transfer, backup, and recovery
- Browser bookmark HTML import/export preserves depth, empty folders, mixed order, and repeated URLs. HTML does not preserve local descriptions or usage statistics.
- Portable JSON v7 includes bookmarks, folders, order, descriptions, and usage counts. v1–v6 backups remain readable. The backup format and database versions are separate.
- Preview merges before applying. The latest import can be undone while no later data changes have occurred. A local replacement restore requires confirmation and a pre-restore snapshot; connected mode cannot replace the entire native Chrome tree.
- Bookmark deletion and move undo depend on the conditions displayed. Native folder deletion saves a local subtree snapshot with a 30-day recovery window. Inspect uncertain writes before retrying.
- Ordinary backups exclude local preferences, custom themes, native bindings, operation logs, undo/folder recovery snapshots, and historical archives. Legacy bodies and tags stay in a separate unsearched archive; use “导出旧版数据归档” to export it.
- If an upgrade or restore fails, retain the browser profile and extension data and inspect available recovery options. Export needed data before uninstalling or clearing storage.
